Alan Beaulieu: Economic Outlook With Fine Humor

[Post Summary]

His mouth is most sweet, Yes, he is altogether lovely.
Song of Solomon

Any C-SPAN junkies out there? What can I say? There's nothing like talking to the TV without commercial interruption!

The other day I watched an hour-long program presenting Alan Beaulieu from the Institute for Trend Research. I wanted to pass it along because you might enjoy this as much as I did.

First, it was good fun. Mr. Beaulieu's presentation to the Economics Club of Grand Rapid, Michigan was lively and entertaining.

When was the last time you could say that about an economist?

More to the point, though, was statistical data he presented. If you have any interest in sharpening your economic outlook — having some need to dissect and consider the realm of possibilities — the various econometric measures whose performance over the last several decades Alan Beaulieu presents should get your wheels turning.

If you're like me, you might not be as sanguine as Mr. Beaulieu about economic prospects over the next few years. Yet his outlook toward the stock market might just be spot on.

Even if your political demeanor differs from Alan Beaulieu's, you will find his presentation a delight to watch. Surely, the likes of Ben Bernanke could benefit from Mr. Beaulieu's lesson in good humor...
