Senator Kerry Serves BK Notice on Wall Street

[Post Summary]

Because of the fragrance of your good ointments
Song of Solomon

What are Senators Kerry (D-MA) and Conrad (D-ND) — both members of the Senate Finance Committee — getting at with their Wall Street Journal OpEd today?
"We cannot continue to paper over the deep cracks in our financial sector."

"We need to act swiftly and boldly to restore solvency to our financial sector."

"This will require tough choices that could be costly or unpopular — likely both."

At first blush the message appears plain. Big write-offs are coming. Financial institutions must be made solvent again.

But what of the "tough choices" likely to be costly and unpopular? Unpopular among whom?

Listen to Senator Kerry. He was interviewed today by CNBC's Bill Griffith. The sweet fragrance of courage is in the air!

A "crisis of reality," indeed, Senator. And we know how ugly reality can be. May posterity see our leaders through these challenging times — terribly threatening, indeed — with all due strength and dizzying speed.

Get behind this effort. Help build support. Let courage surfacing in the Senate lead your brave soul in opposition to a tyranny whose apologists still dominate the free press...
