The Value Added Tax Debate: More Fascism Anyone?

The silencing of policy encouraging real wealth's production continues.

The watchmen who went about the city found me. They struck me, they wounded me;
Song of Solomon

First off, we find Congressman Barney Frank dispelling any notion he is entirely worthless...

Be that as it may, sometimes one's actions cannot overcome one's words. However I digress.

Oh boy, the mouthpiece for our nation's oh-so-creative, oh-so-"talented" financier set goes to bat for a tax meant to discourage "consumption."

How about we first implement political policy aiming to restore an environment wherein ever-increasing (productivity enhanced) growth affecting real, physical goods production supports the nation's capacity to generate lasting wealth (such as causes both savings as well as consumption to commensurately increase)? Then, maybe we can talk these more fascist (read: un-American) schemes like the Value Added Tax.
