What planet is this man from and whose decision was it to drop him off here for crying out loud?

The United States is desperate for an educational system making for Americans well-schooled in the classical humanist tradition. As for the job market driving education, these boys have it backward. It is the deeply cultivated, richly refined, profoundly inquisitive mind that drives human progress. These two contrarily see the matter as though the educational system exists solely for the sake of producing sheep with wool highly valued by business. If you ever wonder how the United States has lost its edge, this mistaken perspective lies at the root of our problem.
