Effort to Gut Social Security Incites Minority Beneficiaries

Only a naive sucker would enter a debate discussing whether Social Security benefits paid to wealthy Americans ought be cut. It's a trick, and a dirty one at that, probably meant to leave those who need Social Security feeling relieved there will be a great effort to protect the crumbs they receive.




As long as the matter of the destruction of the nation's wealth-creating, physical economic capacity remains taboo, there is no point squabbling over the future of Social Security. The U.S. Treasury likely will default on its debt long before the Social Security program is at imminent risk of becoming insolvent.
